Paintings: 1980s

Oils

Though there were many paintings prior to the 1970s, these were the first that were created professionally speaking.

Home by The Sea: 1984
Partially inspired by a Phil Collins song of the same title, this was a combination, real life and fantasy painting. The woman in the painting a combination of two sisters I knew at the time, Karen and MIchelle. The fantasy part was my wanting to live by the ocean, a dream that would later come true. I was always vacationing at the beach, so I thought one day, perhaps I should live there.

Garden Party: 1984
Taken partially from a Vouge magazine and a photo I did of a girlfriend at the time, this was to represent to festivities of Spring-time.

California Dream: 1985
Probably not what you would think. I had met an fashion model from California at an after night club type of party. She was only in town for the weekend so I talk was able to sketch on canvas using charcoal her pose, and later filled in the color with colors from memory. And yes, those were her real breasts.

Left Check: 1985
That's right - you guest it. It's the left check of a woman's buttock. And don't tell her because we're still friends, it's from a photography of my first wife when we were married.
