Jamaica
Most of the paintings from Jamiaca were done from photogrpahy taken while on my honeymoon in 1997. Many of the building structures such as the one to the left were taken at a small remove resort called "Jakes," which was in the southern part of the Island called "Treasure Beach." If you ever want to really get away from it all, this is the place to be. The resort is full of colorfully painted bongalows with a very asian and morocaan type of design. The lighing during the daytime is so brilliant, partly I believe because of the lumnoisty cast by the glistening Carribean Ocean, that most of these small cottages over look. Other areas of Jamaica from which art created are the "Black River," small towns going up the west coast towards Negril, famous for it's All-inclusive resorts that cater to the well-off. Indeed, anytime you step out of your gated commuity you are confronted by the extreame poverty by which most Jamaicans live. . Not all of these are all oil paintings. In addition to those there are pastels and digital works of art.
