Hands of Hope About the painting... February 6th, 2008,The First Wednesday Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville is where I began the painting. The progress you see to the left, from the mockup below it is what was accomplished on this evening, approximately 3 hours of work. I did not continue work on it (minus a little touch up on the face) until the ArtWalk in April - see below. NOTE: Purchase of prints art not yet available. Click here to sign up for an eMailing for when they will be ready, and information on more art showings. Price for Painting: $NFS |

Marketing Materials - Before I began the painting I received some photos of the hospital in Haiti, with a striking photo of a young boy. I decided at that time I would use use face in the both the paintings and the marketing materials. Click here for samples of the flyer and the invitation. |
| April 2nd, 2008,The First Wednesday Art Walk I returned to Gold's Gym to work on the "Hands of Hope" painting that will be auctioned off at the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation Annual Fundraising Event being held at MOCA Friday, May 2nd. Because the event is May 2nd, and the next ArtWalk is not until the following week, I will be completing this painting before then. | |
| The Trouble With Hands - In the painting so far you'll notice that most the hands all look like mine. This is because that's all I had to model the art after. | |
| It soon become apparent that this would not do, so I set out to take photos of my neighbors hands and their daughter. So hopefully the hands in the final painting will not all look like mine. | |
Practice, practice, practice. - After taking the photo above, I created several charcoal and pencil sketches, then a couple of pastels like the one here to the left. I plan on taking photos of the others and make those available only for sale as part of my "Hands of Hope" series inspired by this project. |

| Hands of Hope - The Series - There will be a collection of various hand-themed related works of art. I'm working on perfecting my "fresco" techniques - or at least my specialized version thereof for some fresco mural panels I'm working on. I thought it would be good practice to use "hands" as the theme. | |
