Daughters
Though I do not have any daughters of my
own, I have been very fortunate in my life to be invited to
share in the lives of others who do. Those friends, women
friends to be exact, who have daughters, have allowed me to
share that experience with them. This, of course, could never
take the place of being a “full-time” father, but it has given
me the opportunity to be a “surrogate father.” As a result of
these experiences, one thing is certain…if I had a 16-year old
daughter today, I would surely keep her locked away until a
suitable prince charming asked me for her hand in marriage!
There is something uniquely special about daughters and fathers.
It seems that, from the time they are born, they possess an
innate ability to wrap their fathers around their little fingers
and with the slightest glance from those loving eyes, melt their
heart. |
